I remember listening to a story about a musician (guitarist or drummer, maybe?) joining Prince's touring band. He basically was invited to a jam and played. Though, at one time, he recorded the session to help with learning passages, which was a HUGE no-no, and Prince basically just walked out of rehearsal.

After they figured the situation out, he was invited to go on tour. The musician was so in the deep when it came to cash, he was using the snow outside to refrigerate his food. When Prince invited him to go on tour, they didn't even talk cash arrangements, so eventually, he asked the manager, and he got a check and was confused because it was such a large amount.

Can anyone refresh my memory about which musician this was? I remember hearing this story on youtube late one night, and can't find that interview! I think I got a few details wrong, but that's the gist of it!
