1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

    Hi,

What better way to celebrate the reopening of our beloved net haven of the Gear Page than putting up a backing track.

This track was created as a way for me to use my wacky guitar sounds. The guitar is a Suhr Classic. The "amps" are my Boss GS-10 and the really strange sounds comes from NI Guitar Rig 2.

Here's the tune "Impressions From an Exhibition":

    Here's the backing track:

Hope you have fun with it!

    Cheers,

Thanks for the cool welcome back track. I love all the different textures you're getting. Nice sample-filter-hold, robo-mumbles in the begining.

Now if only you could see me doing the Robo-fatback dance around my desk to your tune...;)

I was hearing a bit of Jan in the intro and the changes also, nothing wrong with that... :

    Sub-D and Fatback,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I've heard the Hammer and Miami Vice thing a lot about my music. That era was indeed very formative for me musically even though I've never really listened to Jan Hammer.

Fatback - I was dissapointed in the video.
I thought you had filmed the Robo-Fatback dance. :D

    Cheers,

    Mats N

Fun backing Mats and a great take from you !!
My attempt can be found HERE !! I'm having fun with a Digitech Whammy Wah through V-stack tweedy into the PXR4 with octave Echo on the left side in the mix. On the right side it's Z-Vex Ohh-Wah and a Lovepedal KARL Fuzz and the V-stack I start with all pedals then switch off Ohh-Wah and a bit later KARL is off, and after a while i turn them on again.

Enjoy the noise (no "real" amp is used")

Great to have TGP back !!

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for listening.
More to come for sure. When the Gear Page was down I had more time to play and record. :D
