Strat bridge PU that sounds like a Tele?

    Is there such an animal? Sounds like something Pete Biltoft would build but I couldn't find it at his site.

    You can add a baseplate to your bridge pup that might get it closer.

    CS 54's get pretty close. My guitar tech happened to notice and brought it to my attention. I hadn't thought about it.

    Both Harmonic Design (STP) and Curtis Novak have exactly what you're looking for. Now the pickup itself sounds like a good tele bridge pickup but don't expect the guitar to sound exactly like a telel.

    I would say that a good part of that has to be the guitar...

    I have a lightweight K-line ashbody/maple neck hardtail strat and in this guitar most strat bridge pups have some tele in it...some more than others...

    currently I am enjoying the heck out of a set of Rocketfire 60s which has the best and most usuable strat bridge pup I have ever heard in 40+ years of playing...and yes it has a lot of crossover into tele land but I venture to guess that a large part of that is the guitar that it's in...

    I used a Harmonic Design STP pickup, for a while. It was surprisingly Tele-like.
