Strat pick ups-Help!

    Need some advice of some good Strat pick-ups. I like my Strat however I need better pick-ups... I play Texas Blues (SRV/KWS etc..) and play lead most of the time. I need that great Strat Tone as well as being able to cut thru the mix when I play solos. I know the other things involved such as pedals - amp etc. but I need to upgrade in the pick- up dept. What would you suggest and about how much would they cost?

    Texas Specials?
    Fralins?
    Rio Grande????

    Rio Grande Vintage Tallboys will get you there.

    I highly recommend the Fralin Blues Specials set. To me, they're everything good about a Strat sound, but with a touch more muscle. Get the baseplate on the bridge pickup.

    Klein pickups, Chris has several options and can do custom wound as well.

    Seriously, check out the Jeff Beck Noiseless Vintage Hot pups! You wont break the bank. I just bought a loaded Beck pick guard in the emporium on friday for under $150

    DiMarzio Area pups currently in my Strat. I actually went with Fralins in my Tele. Lindy was great to deal with. The Vintage Hot or Blues Special are great Strat style replacements.

    If you decide to go noiseless, I really like the Fender Hot Noiseless (as installed in the Jeff Beck Strats), I have a set in one of my Strats. Not to pick nits, but they're just Hot Noiseless, not vintage Hot or Hot Vintage. Fender also has a pickup called the Vintage Noiseless, but it's not really similar at all. Just trying to clarify.

    My Jeff Beck pups when in its neck position with a Lovepedal E6 or my TS808HW sounds exactly like SRV or KWS. See my avatar? Thats KWS standing right above me JAMMIN! I seen SRV 4 times and the last was with Jeff Beck. 3 of my fav guitarists!

    All of the pickups you mention sound great. At the end of the day it comes down to the player.

    Your pretty much right about that but I had them SCN Strat Pups. The Sumarium ones. No way could I get a SRV tone from them. At least I couldnt! Im sure someone will post here shortly though that im full of **** and there the best pups for SRV, KWS sound. LOL!!!
