Hi, I just got a strat for christmas, and I love it. But one question, how do I get the whammy bar to stay in place and not ave it flying arund everywhere. I don't want to shave the whammy, and I don't want to break something> What should I do?

Try a couple wraps of that white plumber's tape on the threads.

Fender makes a part ( 0994931000 ) which is just basically small springs that go in the bottom of the hole. With the bar screwed in the spring provides resistance against the bottom of the bar/block area. That's why new American Standards have that little sticker over the hole. They don't work on all trems though (especially ones with holes under the bar receiver).
