Test:
Sit quietly and relaxed. Take your time......
Now relax some more.
See you can find some extra room for relaxation in your body!

I was/ am looking for legato techniques on other instruments and found much more.
Cellist Paul Katz has a wonderful site with lots of videos and valuable lessons, not just for cello.
In my endeavor to play as stress/ tension free I came across these gems. Watch and watch again.
Translate to the guitar.

That's good stuff! Thanks for posting!!

I've been playing guitar for about 25 years, and it's only in the last 7-8 years that I started to realize how important it is to be tension free while playing. I spent the majority of my playing career thinking (consciously or not) that the "harder" I play the more tone I would milk from the amp. Unfortunately, harder typically means tense. It's amazing that when you relax, you are not only able to pull of those fast runs more easily, you actually get better tone from the amp!

Playing guitar (or any instrument for that matter) should be a fun and stress free experience. I need to remember that in my technique as well!!!

Technique is fundamental to playing well without injuries. Can you imagine somebody in martial arts or professional dancers without good technique?
