Pepe Rush has claimed that no version of a WEM branded PepBox was ever made in a wedge-shaped enclosure, or with germanium transistors, but both assertions are patently incorrect, as demonstrated by extant vintage examples.
Where did this come from? What you don't know is that he is referring the flat box WEM PepBoxes they produced after they took his name off the pedal.
Where were YOU for PepBoxGate?
I have never produced any pedal, nor has 'Effects for Me & My Monkey'. The ambiguity or casual wording of your first sentence is not appreciated.
The 'WEM-Rush PepBox' produced by Sharptone FX was an official reissue, authorised and licensed by WEM.
I have seen a copy of the licensing agreement.
My understanding is that WEM have the rights to the product name 'WEM-Rush PepBox'.
The 1960s 'WEM-Rush PepBox' was only ever produced and sold under the auspices of WEM.
Even Pepe Rush himself does not purport to hold the trademark in respect of ''WEM-Rush PepBox''.
Do you have relevant legal expertise in this matter? Are you personally familiar with the commercial agreements? If not, I think you should stop throwing such statements around.
I am not Sharptone FX, and nor do I represent them. Sharptone FX is no longer an active business. I sell their residual stock. I have sold a handful of WEM-Rush PepBox official reissues; they sold out completely a year or two ago.
p.s. Only the other day in this thread I mentioned Pepe Rush's PepBox being currently available.

I can't tell you off the top of my head right now. I didn't invent it though. The PepBox history is something I researched into and wrote about a while ago.
Btw, maybe you should actually read my piece properly, instead of repeatedly posting saying that I didn't mention x, y or z, when I patently did.
WEM took his name off the pedal in the late 60s, but when people were interested in his pedal again and they could make some money off his name, they put it back on and licensed it to Sharptone.
I didn't suggest you were Sharptone, but you are selling their stuff - you posted about the Pepbox to sell them.
I think he posted about the pep box because he likes fuzzes and someone asked.
They were sold out a year or two ago. I said that above!
Again, you seen to have difficulty with basic comprehension.
My postings above about the PepBox may have helped Pepe Rush sell his, though. Maybe I should send you a bill as you seem to be his commercial agent? I can't see that stated in your signature, though.
Alright you two, take this over to the "judge people by their pedalboard" thread post your boards and have a swing at each other.....
I presume you're referring to Charlie Watkins?
He died a year or two ago.
Nice of you to cast aspersions on the dead when they have no ability to defend themselves. Classy.
For everyone else, Charlie Watkins is the man behind WEM, the famous Copicat echo machine, and a pioneer of PA. In 2011 he received an Audio Pro International Lifetime Achievement award.
Here are some articles etc about Charlie Watkins:
Forgive me in advance if this has been done before (I'm going through old posts and haven't come across it).
What are your 3 favorite Fuzz pedals?
I'm pretty new to the pedal world (picked guitar back up again after 7 year hiatus) and I am really getting into what more the electric guitar can do and pedals play a fun part in that.
I'm beginning research to buy my first Fuzz. So far my top 3 in consideration are:
Small sound/big sound Buzzz
Black Cat Super Fuzz
So again I ask...what are your fav 3?!
i don't feel you approaching this in the best way.
how about you tell us the fuzz sounds you like - like on a particular album - and then seek suggestions?
in the absence of this info, i suggest u get a silicon fuzz face.
Zvex - Fat Fuzz Factory
Prescription - Experience
Death by Audio - Apocalypse
I pretty much love all fuzz... But tend to use these most. In order of preference.
I have a ton of fuzzes, it's an illness. But my fave 3 are:
ETA: I'm not trying to be circumspect, but I can't narrow it down to only three.
If I pick three based on what's on the board right now:
Check back tomorrow, it probably will change...
I think Mark Twain said something about that, "If you have 3 favorites fuzzes in Strictly Fuzz right now, wait a few minutes."
It is done:
Looking forward to pissing off my London neighbors. Heh.
Nestled in its own little crypt - er box, I mean box.
Best thing to do is get all three... that's what we'd call a good start.
