Look, dude, I don't have an axe to grind with you. If you feel I've disrespected you in some way, I apologize. It was not, and has never been, my intention.

My inbox is always open if you (or anybody else) want(s) to talk about something I posted.

Ironic as a Golden Girls neck tattoo today... back to (and hopefully staying with) FUZZ!

That first clip is tough to sell since it seems (to me) like the fuzz tone is mirroring the (kinda sorta) clean riff, but I think I'm hearing more of that MKI on Love & Hate... At least I generally associate that kinda gated, bass cut fuzz tone with a MKI due to a Behan MKI I had. They won't all sound that way. But I think that is "traditional", if such a thing exists... Just my opinion though based on the picture you posted. Could just be the picture influencing me :dunno

I've been chasing some distinct fuzz tones
and hoped y'all might lend an ear and some suggestions.

Seems like the Fuzz Rite, Pep fuzz, and or FY-2 could do those.
To my ears they all have the low end cut thing going on.
The FY-2 in some settings can do it.

I really love the Companion. Reminds me of vintage Roxy Music.

The Spoon track sounds splatty so maybe something gated?

The Kiawanuka definitely has some octaving going on. The FY-2 sounds like a good choice.

Yes, yes, yes. What a shame that discord has entered the warm and fuzzy den of fuzz.

Can drums be played through fuzz?

    Kumbaya my buzz, Kumbaya...

Here's what I mainly use when I need fuzz on my guitar, originally posted by me in the "Everyone says this pedal is rubbish, but you love it..." thread:

That's great! I love how it gets louder when he cleans up.
Probably 50% aural illusion, 50% youtube compression

Oh man. Great taste. I love Michael Kiwanuka and Spoon both. No gear insight, unfortunately, but props :)

I wonder if any eagle eyes can spot something in this live session video:

I've been lusting after a Basic Audio Tri/Ram and almost pulled the trigger more than once in the last few weeks. I was going through my pedals only to realize that I bought one months ago! :facepalm I'm starting to think I have to much stuff!

While not a fuzz pedal, I got a new Reverend in and it sounds glorious WITH fuzz. I hope I don't forget I have it in a few months and buy another....

Lots of great pedals out there for Stoner and Doom. One of my favorites is this bad boy...

They are sold out at the moment but he does runs on a fairly regular basis.

    Regarding the FY-2...

I think it would get pretty damn close to what you are describing. I just built one because I wanted the Jext Telez Canyon Climber, but couldn’t justify the price tag.

It sounds gnarly, but seems to be picky with guitars. It really digs my lower output 1965 Jazzmaster pickups. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Oh, and mine is from GGG
