Strings and lotion

So fall is upon us and winter is around the bend and for some of us that means tons of lotion for our hands because our skin is getting dried out. Does anyone have any suggestion for a deep moisturizing lotion that isn’t really oily and have adverse effects on my guitar and strings?

I don't see lotion being any more harmfull to strings than summertime sweaty hands. Do like you normally do or don't, but never hurts to just give the stings and fretboard a wipe after playing.

I don't know that it's easier on strings, but there's a lotion called "working hands creme" that is crazy good. If you put it on once a day for about 3 days.... say before you crash... it'll put you in good shape in no time. My hands literally split if i don't use something, and its the only one I've ever found that I don't have to keep crap on my hands 24/7 to get 'em to heal.

You can find it at Home Depot, Ace, and maybe even Bed Bath & Beyond oddly enough.

Just wipe the strings down and don't play IMMEDIATELY after applying. It can gunk up your strings and cause build-up in the string grooves and around the frets. My test is this; If my hands don't slide well on the neck, I should wait to play for a while.
