Not really a recording question, but this is probably the best forum for it anyway.

I want to run my guitar through my Vox Tonelab LE and musical output from my computer into a mixer and then out to a pair of powered studio monitors so I can play along with mp3s, CDs, etc.

Will a decent pair of powered studio monitors be able to handle that kind of output? The ToneLab would be set to a line level output.

If it would work -- does anyone do this? Does it work well?

Works great. I use a Pod XT Live, Mackie mixer and Behringer Truth 2031A powered monitors. This is the only way that the XTL sounds good to me and I'm able to play at high or low volumes as needed.

Powered recording monitors should be able to handle anything you throw at them.

Thanks for the responses. Any suggestion for good powered room monitors, besides the Behringers?

    Yup.

(within some semblance of reason, of course).

I often play bass through my Mackies. Guitar/Pod too.

I have Wharfedale monitors (the bigger ones, don't remember the name) and I like them a lot.

Thanks for the responses -- I got the system and it works better than I had hoped. Running a Vox ToneLab LE and my computer into a Yamaha MG82cx mixer, out to a pair of M-Audio BX8a Deluxe active monitors. I haven't been able to play along to songs like this for a long time.
