Enjoy that out-front killer tele sound! Time to hit the woodshed.
I like everything about that song. Good, good stuff.
Dave was great at the end...and the band sounded great. Too bad the place I saw them in last fall had terrible sound.
I got to see him in January with Jason Isbell.......great show!
That was great! Some tasty Tele playing there! That guy is fantastic!
Just downloaded his first album through my local library. Thanks for sharing, love the tele playing!
He's a monster slide player too!
just saw him at the paradise in boston.
this is a great show to see and with him touring smaller places now, it's even more of a benefit imo.
Real country for a change. Good stuff.
He is an interesting guy with an interesting history, made the push late in life for a career in music. Check out Joe Rogan's podcast episode #564.
I want that drummer.
I have been listening to him a ton over the last couple of weeks. I first heard about him on here. I love the way Metamodern has been recorded. I have some time this week where I don't have any songs I need to work on, so I'm finally going to sit down with transcribe and try to figure out some of Laur's stuff.
A harmony-singing groove player?
Don't find many musicians who are drummers LOL.
Yea, Little Joe from Astonia really has it nailed
Seeing him live in a few months and really excited. I was supposed to see him last week but the show was cancelled due to illness.
+1 on that Tele player. Very tasteful.
He's got a great story too:
After the revelation that is discovering Sturgill Simpson, there’s the delight of learning that his guitarist, Laur Joamets—a sensational player who flashes winks of hard rock between fall-from-heaven slides and growling blues—cut his teeth not in some Austin back room but in the post-Soviet state of Estonia. Dubbed onstage as Lil Joe, Joamets has been collecting awed shout-outs from the New York Times and Hollywood Reporter and closeups on national TV (see below), but the man himself has remained something of a mystery until now, with this, his first English-language interview...
I've listed to MetaModern Sounds about 500 times the last 4-6 months; great stuff! I love Sturgill's psychedelic lyrics as well.
He`s from Estonia
