    Hi,

After a few weeks with no funk I felt the need to write something funky.
The result was this tune. I'm happy with the BT and the groove of it but feel ambivalent about the theme. Takes a while to get used to it. Maybe I'll redo it.

The guitar tracks were recorded with my Suhr Classic and as usual my Boss GS-10 had to act the amplifier of choise.

Production wise I feel this track is a but clearer and more powerful than my previous funk tunes. I recorded it in the new Cubase 4 and the new plug-ins are very nice. Here I used the new maximizer, compressor and a lot of the new studio eq plug-ins.

    Here's the tune:

    Comments and suggestions welcome!

Mats-way cool!-where are the horns from?

I quite like the theme-maybe jwhen it goes up a third-it could vary away from the root note-that repeats alot.

    still:AOK!

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the thumbs up.

The horns are a few riffs I found on the Internet. I sliced them, timestreched them, put them in a sampler and tried different combinations until I found a few that worked. It's quite a hassle but sometimes it's actually worth it.

    Cheers,

    Hi Loren,

Yupp! Without the software I wouldn't be doing much, that's for sure.
Cubase and some plug-ins and Photoshop with some plug-ins have been heaven sent!

    Glad you liked it!

    Cheers,

    Hi Niels,

It would probably be even better with the CM Compressor I'm saving up for.
I do however appreciate the compliment.

    Cheers,
