One I can set and leave on all the time. I need more versatility than just the amp's tone stack.

Boss GE-7 with the sniper mod. The least expensive way is to buy a used GE-7 off of the bay and send it for the mod. Otherwise Tonejam charges about $145 last I checked for a new modded pedal. He recently changed his website though. You can probably get more info over at guitargeek.com

Does the sniper mod make the pedal sound different or just cleaner? The website said it makes it fatter and cleaner sounding. what does fatter sound like?

hey, I use a boss eq-20.

10 highly responsive bands, super silent performance, 9 memory slots to save your favorite settings, it's everything anyone could want in an eq (except for the fact that it's a bit of a tonesucker in bypass mode. I never turn mine off, though, so it doesn't bother me).

I guarantee satisfaction!

One of the old MXR Graphic EQs. They're very easy to work with (low part count) and they have no on/off switch anyway.

'nuther Tonejam modded GE7 fan here. Dead quiet (vs a very noisy stock GE7). I don't know about fatter. It's easy to make it 'fat' with the eq sliders.

throwin in my 2 cents again. I've never played a GE-7, stock or sniper, but the eq-20 is silent as a corpse. No hiss or anything, boss really uses quality components in their twin pedals
