I'm starting to research amp heads with tube reverb and tremolo. I haven't found any, I know they exist? Can anyone throw a couple of names out? I'm looking for something like a head version of The Swarth- atomic space tone.

    Thanks

I don't know many amps with both tube reverb and tremolo

Try a Mesa Trem-o-Verb. Get an older one. Hard to go wrong if you know how to dial 'em in.

Umm, quite a few in the late 60s:

Sunn 100s/Spectrum... (the tremelo was solid state but it sounds great)
    Traynor Guitar Master
    Ampeg V4
    Univox
lots more I can't think of...

Heh. My Silvertone 1484 has verb and tremolo. The verb, of course, is broken, and it sucks on those even if it DID work (though you could probably improve things by replacing the reverb tank) but the tremolo works and is gorgeous.

Jamison makes a really great amp with those features, and the Bad Cat Tremcat comes as a head as well.

Cool, I will check out all your suggestion:

    Mesa Trem-o-Verb
Fender Bandmaster Reverb and Showman Reverb heads
    Sunn 100s/Spectrum
    Traynor Guitar Master
    Ampeg V4
    Univox
    Silvertone 1484
    Jamison
    Bad Cat Tremcat
    Any others to add?

We’ve got a pretty good list started, these should help. I’ve got to run, I smell gas coming from somewhere in the house!

Doesn't Victoria make reverb/trem amps? I've never heard them before... just seen them online.

Damn, I'd love to be able to try the Trem Cat. Wish they had one here in town

While they featured an SS preamp w/ a tube power section, some of the old MusicMan heads had reverb and tremolo...

I see this guy FINALLY updated his page. Pretty amps. Maybe you could buy one of the chassis he has for sale and get a head cab for it. Looks like a PR clone. Don't know if that's enough power for what you want? Price seems ok compared to the other "name-brands." I wish he would put some sound clips on. Kinda tough to buy an amp without playing or listening to it.

Mesa Boogie Trem-O-Verb. Although I'm not sure as to the sound that you're looking for. I love my Trem-O! You can hear it on my band's myspace site- www.myspace.com/savageevolution . The songs Hanging, Wasted and No Changing Me are all Trem-O-Verb. But like I said, I'm not sure what tones you're going for...

+1 For the Tone King Meteor II. I have the 40W head and 2x12 cab and the reverb and trem are both fantastic. Read up on the specs at www.toneking.com

I just got an Allen Encore. www.allenamps.com Reverb and trem are very nice on this one.
David Allen makes nice composites of black and brown panel features and AFAIK all his amps are available as heads.

the one they chose was the Mesa Boogie Tremoverb and then the Fender Vibroking, i don't know if it's the same issue, but those were the two winners
