Anyone have any suggestions for a good sounding but cheap or free organ / rhodes plug-in.

I was using Xpand on PT, which was fine for my needs but I'm doing my song sketches now in GB and Logic Express, and the samples aren't as strong.

    Thanks.

The ZR3 organ sounds great, especially for free.

I've actually recorded with the Phibes organ, although its use is limited..

Is GB compatible with VST plug-ins? I could be mistaken, but I thought it was limited to AU format.

You are correct; AU's for GB and Logic.

For free you could do a search for sound fonts and may find what you are looking for.

It all depends on what you are looking for but...

IMO a nice inexpensive organ ($59.00) is NI's Kore soundpack '57 Drawbar Organ.

To use, or just to have, if you don't already, download the KorePlayer Free.
