I have a Duncan Jazz neck pickup with nickel cover. I’m trying to use it with a Gibson 57 classic bridge which I’m not liking. I’d like to find a used Jazz bridge but finding a used one is dang near impossible. The 57 is too strong in the mids and nasal sounding too my ear. Any suggestions for a covered bright bridge that will be easier to find in the used market?

You might look for a '59 bridge.

Pickup height and pole piece height is always worth looking into. Often times you can fix a lot of the EQ of many pickups, especially the 57' Classic. Its one of the best humbuckers on the market so I would try that before replacing it.

You could always try a 1Meg volume pot.

    .

Lower the pickup to the trim ring, raise the screw poles 1/4inch but in a 'mid-scooped' pattern, keeping them flat across might be ok too. Then balance the volume output heights of the two pickups when switching back and forth.

I usually need to fix the muddiness of those pickups...

Other option is measure kohms of your volume pot and then find one higher for brighter or lower for darker.

Tone cap swaps up/down can alter the tone too.
