Suhr Badger Questions

Few years back I had a Badger 30. On paper it looked like the perfect amp however I didn't really like how the amp sounded gained up. A little too polite for my tastes. I guess with the EL34s I was expecting something a little more in your face. Does the 18 or 35 do the upper mid thing more than the 30 or they basically the same amp? Looking for a little faster attack and a bit more AC30ish.

I think the 30 is the most aggressive of the 3

This. What cab did you play it through? Suhr has gone to the wgs vet 30 which is more polite than the celestion vintage 30. Also less efficient/less mid snarl. I like the celestion v 30 in the Badger 112 ported cabs better.

+1 on that. I strongly preferred the V30 when compared side-by-side in 2 Suhr Badger cabs, tested over several days (using both a Badger 18 and a 35, not the 30).

Thanks guys. This helps. Sounds like if the 30 wasn't what I was looking for the 18 or 35 won't really be the answer.

I think the 30 is a great amp. It sounds great at clean to some crunch then hit is with pedals. However, full out drive from just the amp didn't quite do it for me.
