I had a chance to run out to Suhr's shop this week, eat some lunch and tour the shop.

Got a chance to see John and the gang hard at work fine tuning everything.

    I learned two things

    1) You can't say enough nice things about John, he is one of the nicest most easy going friendly guys I have met in this business.

    2) The new OD 100/50 kicks major ass! WOW I am impressed! With the added presence/brilliance/pump/feedback control (whatever you want to call it) on the back of the amp, this amp covers so much ground at a reasonable volume level and NEVER looses that FEEL.

I am not a MV channel switching kind of guy but.........I have been loosing sleep about the tone from this beast since hearing and playing it.....

This is a great time to be a guitar player! :dude

Joe, I dont know how many amps you have had, but you seem to have covered the bases pretty well, at least from what I have seen of your arsenal, past and present. ( you sold me a nice emplexador a while back)

I love the CAE stuff, and wish I had the funds to pick one up they sound great on the clips. How do they stack up against your current amps for reference sake I mean?

I am currently using a Naylor SC38 which is a killer amp.

A Divided by 13 JRT 9/15 which is a killer amp.

Both amps are in the vintage camp of tones.

The 100/50 can do the vintage spongey stuff as well as big spanky cleans which is something I am missing now. It has so many tonal options and is such a departure from what I would normally gravitate to.

The things that are missing from this amp that I find in every other channel switcher I have owned or played:

    Buzzy overdrive
    Sterile clean tones
    Lack of playing dynamics

I am going to pick one up after I get past christmas and my wifes 40th.

has??..this is high on my list...either einstein..or elmwood modena would be my only consideration...and i think the recent einstein clips have narrowed it down to these 2...

my ecstasy (which i'm still keeping by the way) wasn't buzzy, was it? :)

any lack of playing dynamics on my part is user-error, of course.

    Hey John!

Your bogner with that w/d/w rig was(is) sick.

You are gonna really dig the 50...holy crap that amp was fun to play and just the right volume. That thing kills. I could see it rocking your world pretty hard.

    Anyone wanna buy a 100b?

    LOL, joe.

i'm looking forward to it. i'm gonna use that with a TC electronic G system as a mono rig at the church. it should handle a 1200-seat theater without any problems, you think? :)

it's only been at low volumes so far, but it's pretty impressive. the effects sound great, and it's great having everything in one simple unit. i can change channels on the OD, and they play very nicely together!

i'll know after oct. 9, when i can crank it up to proper volumes. :)

So you are able to change the channels on the OD with the GS without any issues? Are you running the effects in the Loop of the OD? Do you have any other pedals in the Loop of the GS?

Sorry for so many ???'s and Please let us know how it sounds after the 9th!!!

    Thanks,
    Cam

yes, i can change channels on the GS with no issues whatsoever.

i run the G system into the loop of the amp, as specified in the manual.

i have no other pedals in the loops of the GS, but will add some soon, i'm guessing.
