Thinking about putting a humbucker in the bridge of my strat and maybe a very clean fat pickup in the front. But, how does everybody like them? What are the characteristics of their sound and everything?

    thanks

What pickups are you lucking at? I've got the DSH and it's really clear in the top end, more so than most other pickups I've tried. It's also really smooth sounding but at the same time it hits the front of the amp quite hard for a more compressed "saturated" feel.

TRY THE tone merchants forum or maybe hugeracksinc.com since suhr himself will pop up at the hugeracks forum.

dsh+ in the bridge and maybe a dsh in the neck?

The SSH+ is the ultimate. It is a cross between a JB and a duncan custom. Very fat and great clarity. Just the right amount of output.

    A must have!

is the ssh+ a really modern pickup? I'm looking for something with a more PAF type of sound, what would anybody suggest i have just heard good things about the suhr.

It is not modern. It can get that way but it is just a great pickup. I would email John and see what he suggests.

I think what you want is the SSV. I've used them in my guitars. Very nice pickups with lots of touch sensitivity.

Just received a DSV for neck position. V60LP RWRP middle, DSH for brigde.

Why?....well looked at a couple of Suhr guitars....And read a few topics on these pickups.

I wish you could testdrive pickups with these pricetags.

    Hope I did well!

    Hi John & Ed

And what about the combination I have chosen?

At first I ordered DSV for neck, V60 middle, DSH+ for bridge
    I received a DSH instead the DSH+.
I'm playing all kinds of music but mostly classic rock.
    Swampash body.

It would be nice if you added a page to your website with suggested sets of PUs. I found it very difficult to choose!
    Hope I did well.

I have three suhrs, all with different pickups. I prefer the DSV on the neck-loads of character with a very nice and sweet top end to it. As for the bridge, I'm liking the SSH+ more and more these days compared to the DSH and DSH+. The SSH+ has a snarl and bite to it that I like and that the DSH and DSH+ don't have.
