I always have my eye open for a melancon or an anderson with humbuckers. I came across a nice looking suhr standard. whose got the lowdown on these babies? how do they sound? can you give me tonal comparison to a cobra, LP, etc...

Thanks!

I like that one, too. I think it's a great instrument at a very good price. Only thing is, i prefer basswood body. Even though the weight difference between alder and basswood is only a couple pounds, it adds up hour after hour, day after day, week after week, and I know my back thanks me for such consideration. Otherwise I'd prolly be cutting a check.

Big,

Ask Wyldefan, I am sure he will give you the lowdown

I have a Mahogany Suhr... but it has a Mahog neck and a Carve Maple top, so would sound different... my Standard is Basswoon and maple, with maple neck and board... so different again... I sure it is a great rock axe!!!!

That one looks like 2646 from TM... If so, here are the specs:
http://www.tonemerchants.com/pdf/Suhr_Std_SN2646.pdf

IMO, the guitar is geared towards the metal/hard rock shredder guy... It's a great axe... The guitar has great cleans but in OD is where it really shined... Nice tight bottoms, good midrange, some crispy highs with great articulation...

Ultimately, the guitar was not for me but I fell in love with it anyway... Kind of like how a guy fells in love with a roadster even though he knew he would only drive it once a month if he bought it...

It looks like wyldefan switched out the pickups... See if he'll send you the originals as well...
