We don't get summer vacations or any vacations.
There's a set of leaves you can use for medical/recreation/family visit/anything you want. There's not enough for a vacation/ 20 days.

Taking our third XC trip this Sept, to Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP (2nd time), Grand Tetons, Yosemite NP, Sequoia NP, Sedona (3rd Time), Nashville (2nd time), and lastly Rock & Roll HOF in Cleveland.
Have seen all the other NP's on our previous trips, Bryce Canyon twice, probably our favorite.
Not looking forward to the long drive though, cornfields for the first two days.

This place was built by musicians for musicians. It has two wings at the main lodge. We set up and play in the East wing. West wing is all rooms...the quiet side. The place was built by the Dopyera brothers who just happened to build Dobro musical instruments. The lodge has changed hands in the recent past though...there used to be pictures of all kinds of musicians in one room playing resophonic guitars, mandos and all kinds of resonators.
The place has an outdoor stage with a combination bath house and sound booth for the stage, it's set up for festivals/camping. It also has a two tier activity barn set up for catering with a stage as well. It really is incredible.

We basically go thru all of the different bands that we have been in together over the years and play all that material or whatever comes to mind. Set on 150 acres, you can make noise all night long and not bother anyone.
We do it right up there...

We visited Miami and Cuba as a family in June - and my son and I will be road tripping to baseball parks next week on our quest to see 'em all - Citi Field and Fenway are this year's stops. A week at Cape Cod (for a wedding) in early September.

One of my bands picked up a 5-night stint at a bar in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware last month. My girl and I decided to drive up a few days early, dropped off a bunch of band gear with the venue owner, then drove to Wilmington and took the train to NYC to play tourist for a couple days.

Even had our portrait done by a dude in Strawberry Fields, Central Park :p

We then made our way back to Rehoboth, set up, spent our nights performing:

    ...and our days exploring.

Since we were just over an hour away, we even took a little side trip to this place:

    Wait.

Three cross country road trips from Western New York? That's pretty hard core.

The furthest we ever went from there was across to Cheyenne, and down mostly I-25 to some back ways into Santa Fe and Albuquerque, then through Amarillo to Nashville, up past Louisville and through Columbus. Black station wagon, no AC.

Oh. I misread your post. I thought you meant 3 in one year! :^)

Hey. You could add a (western) South Dakota destination in there - not cornfields. I just did the Nebraska Crossing and it is prettier than Kansas but there's not much going on (besides late night drinkin' in Lincoln).

Three weeks in Europe. Started in Barcelona where the baptismal fountain used to baptize natives that returned with Columbus sits off to the side in the cathedral. Monte Carlo Monaco where we ran into Justin Haywood walking in the marina. He has a very nice place there. Florence and Pisa. Rome and the Vatican got into the Vatican museum, the basilica and Sistine in one day. The Amalfi coast and especially liked little Positano. Taormina on Sicily also very nice village with an an amphitheater built 200 BC....which is still in use today. Corfu Greece was cool and as expected we got a lot of political opinions. Kotor, Montenegro will always be remembered as a city of cats. Dubrovnik has made an amazing comeback from the bombing. The people were wonderful. Ending in Venice living like locals in a very nice hotel away from the crowds but with it's own motor launch to take us around. Wow...I can't believe we did this....dream come true.

White Sand Lake. It's north of Minocqua a few miles. Pretty close to Eagle River!

Next year. We are doing the road trip old school in a car this year. I think we're doing the Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee trip next spring.
