Super-Champ XD Foot Switch Question

Okay... dumb question (and search is my friend, I know)... but, does the Fender Super-Champ foot switch control the effects using Channel 1? Independent of the channel switching function? It appears so, but I'd like to know for sure.

I'm asking for a friend who needs to know whether or not to buy one asap. Thanks in advance
