Does anybody have a footswitch that works with the SCXD? How ridiculous is it that a footswitch should be so hard to find for this amp?

Apparently the footswitch for the FM65 amp (part #0071359000) works for this amp, and that would be find if it were possible to get one but they are nowhere to be found without the amp!

So does anyone have a footswitch that works? If so please post what you've got. If you have that particular Fender footswitch, could you post a schematic so I could build one or modify an existing switch to work?

According to Fender, the only one that will work is the one from the FM65 that I listed above. I've tried various 2 button switches from my other Fender amps, as well as from my Peavey and Carvin amps as well as some other footswitches (like for my drum machine and stuff...just to try). None of them worked.

Exactly which footswitch are you using biggreen?

I am using the proper one, only because the guy i got it from had it in a parts bin along with a bunch of others like the ones listed above, he told me that any of them would work, but I guess if you have tried some and they don't he must have been wrong. I don't really see why they would all vary so much being as they all look identical and are all doing the same thing with the same cable. Seems pretty weird.

Only the footswitch from the FM65 will work.

If you call your local Fender dealer, they can order one. Mine should be here this week. $24 I think. It's a replacement part for the FM65, so it's not sold in stores. It is really stupid given the popularity of these amps.

I'd rather do online if possible, the nearest dealer that will order them is an hour's drive one way. Shipping is definitely cheaper than 1/2 a tank of gas :)

Try emailing Voodooman switches- find him on Ebay. He makes all kinds of footswitches & might know how to make what you need.

Wow, lot's of hoopla about the footswitch. Are you guys really changing between the channels (which you would have to change the voices on ch. 2 by hand anyway) and shutting the FX on and off that much? I have a few boxes on the floor, set the verb/delay to about 3 and forget it. Booster, wah and phase (which isn't on the dang amp anyhoo) on the ground and I'm set. Channel 1 LOVES dirt pedals, and IMO the voiced dirts aren't that swell anyway. Just wondering what the big deal about the footswitch is......

Fender's trying to recreate the aura of exclusivity that follows the original Super Champ's footswitch :D

Try having big fat fingers like me and try to hold a guitar and push that tiny channel switching button without throwing the adjustment knobs out of whack and you'll see what I mean!

I like to turn the reverb off before I kick on my giga delay, it get's too muddy for me otherwise. I guess I lucked out getting the right one second hand out of a box of a dozen or so.
:p I agree the first channel does sound best.

Yeah just use pedals, the clean channel on the SCXD is amazing. But a Roland FS-5 works I believe for channel switching, it has selectable polarity.
