The Allen Old Flame springs to mind.

Try Rick Hayes at Vintage Sound Amps (www.vintagesoundamps.com). His BFSR clone is awesome in both workmanship, parts, and most importantly tone.

The other option is just buy an actual Fender SR.:AOK

Fender? Is this a trick question?

You can pick up a nice silverface, late '60s Super for under a grand.

Get a real one. (Black or early silver face) nothing else comes close IMO.
