I have a Superchamp XD on the way and have a question on the line out:

If you use the line out, are you getting any of the tube sound, or only the modeled sound?

Dumb question, I know, call me Nigel.

From what I understand, the line-out is the same as an effect send in a normal effects loop. Therefore it would be the preamp only and the poweramp tubes are not involved.

I have the Superchamp XD and love it! I'm planning on installing an "effects return" in mine.

Just to elaborate, you would need a speaker/cab simulator to use the line out if using that signal to record or to send it to the board when playing live. Unless it has the cab sim already... and it doesn't mention that in the manual.

As it is, the line-out would be used to send the signal to another amp's effects return so you could have more volume.

    This is my understanding. :)

Thanks for the responses. That's pretty much what I would have guessed, but its good to have confirmation.

When I wanted to send the XD sound to our board, I used a Palmer PDI-09 to get a line out from the final output. Worked fine.
