Anyone seen this yet? This Mike Hermans demo popped up on YouTube:

1 watt 1x8 combo with a 12AU7 power tube. I like Supro (have a couple of the new ones) and don't have any need for or interest in this amp personally, but I can't recall any other amp that uses a 12AU7 in the power section. Thoughts?

(There's also this one from Supro):

The Marshall JTM-1 uses a 12AU7 as a power tube, but this amp sounds different.

For the price, I'd give it a go.

Supro Blues King series is priced quite aggressively. Cleans are good but the drive is very transiator - like, similar to the Blackstar HT 20.
I read these somewhere. Mike Hermans makes it better. ;)

Yeah, that was my impression of the boost on the earlier Blues King as well as some (if not all) of the tones on this amp. I haven't tried either one in person though.

I believe the BKs are made solely in China, and not "assembled" in the USA like other Supros. Hence the price point. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality of my Blues King 12. Certainly as good as most amps in its price range.

The drive is transistor like. It's a diode clipping circuit if you use the Gain switch. The natural gain is a bit better but cleans/edge are where this amp shines.

Like Mike Hermans demo work generally speaking but this amp sounded sterile to me.

Yes, overall it has got good reviews.
When you say the natural cleans/edge, is it turning up the clean channel ?
Can it be done on low volumes (<75 dB) ?

Anyone tried it? At 1W it looks like a perfect amp for the living room.

I was thinking to look for a 5W Super, but this would be considerably cheaper and more neighbour friendly.

might be able to use a 12AY7 for lower overall volumes
