Between that and this same Unknown Pleasures graphic showing up on VH-1 Classic's station identification bumpers, it looks like Joy Division is experiencing some sort of weird pop culture renaissance. Next stop, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, maybe?

You should listen to Joy Division because they are one of the great all time bands. Nothing to do with coolness or a lack thereof.

Writer for the NME Neil Norman captured the power of Joy Division in the post-punk landscape of Manchester and its environs when he described one of their final live performances thus: "Whereas The Fall make me want to go out and kick a cat, Joy Division make me believe I could spit in the face of God."

But that's the only reason I listen to anything? I really want to be cool.

I want to scoff, but my kids are getting to Disney age now, and we might be headed to the resort soon. If I see that T in front of my face, I MAY NOT RESIST.

I don't know about any apocalypse, isn't it just a sign that we're getting old and that like most works of art, JD has lost its edge over time and been accepted into the mainstream?

Does Disney not know what Joy Division (the band and the prostitution wing of a Nazi concentration camp) was?

I'm guessing they are unfamiliar with Ka-Zetnik's novel House Of Dolls, which served as the inspiration for the band's name.

I would not be at all surprised to learn that they are likewise not familiar with the band, but are only familiar with the Peter Saville graphic from the album cover of Unknown Pleasures.

    From the press release:

"Inspired by the iconic sleeve of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures album, this Waves Mickey Mouse Tee incorporates Mickey's image within the graphic of the pulse of a star. That's appropriate given few stars have made bigger waves than Mickey!"
