    Also a seriously butchered Marshall JMP2203. The preamp section had been gutted, and replaced with a Mark IIc+ circut. Ketp the power section original. It was an amazing amp.

    can't say that ant amp is the "BEST".
    favorites;
    EL84, Custom By cougar Thunderbird
    EL34 Mystique (tweaked by Cougar) Blue Star (Dumble and marshall marriage in heaven sort of)
    6L6 Mystique Mystic Blues ( ODS style )
    i own all three, i woulden't want to trade any of the Mystiques for a Dumble (if i where not allowed to sell the Dumble AND get a new Mystique);)
    I currenty have a Re-vintage amp (reVitage Pro) at home which is my favorite vintage style amp, only have it for review (http://revintage.se/)

    Orange OR120 or 80 (heavy, very loud, bit tempermental, but finest cleans I've heard)

    Hiwatt Custom 100 or 50 (heavy, very loud, can be bright, but very fast/articulate/road-worthy)

    1969 silverface Fender Twin Reverb w/ factory JBLs (WAY too heavy, but very warm/musical w/ great reverb/trem)

    Total-Tone modded Traynor YBA-1 (number one here, if a bit fragile - awesome Marshall-style OD tones)

    Others...

    A very early AC15 twin (2x12)....haunting magic tone. Cost a fortune, or I would have bought it.

    Most mojo= 1966 Fender vibrolux with matching 2x12". That amp really spoke. It has a beautiful, pristine, warm but clear sound while playing gently. You dig in hard and the tone completley changed, it sang. It felt like the amp was reading my mind. Who needs channel switching?!

    Best 'silly grin' factor= Two fender tonemasters in stereo. That was fun.

    Best cranked sound= this will probably be a controversial statement around you guys, but with the right guitar/cab, the 5150II sounds amazing when it is fully cranked. It doesn't get muddy, and it loses the buzz which is ingrained in the sound of the amp at any other volume. The honky mids with attitude make me smile every time. I find that these amps work really well in stereo if you EQ each one right and crank them both all the way.

    Best all rounder= The ENGL powerball. Again you need the right guitar and cab, but the clean/crunch on this puppy is simply beautiful. The high gain channels are also really clear and deep. I love the clarity of pick attack on this amp.
