I have only used old 8 x10 cabs.
Was wondering how those newer 4x10 cabs sound?
Never have tried one with an old SVT head.
Will the space saving cost me tone.
And this is strictly for studio use.

What do you mean by old, if you mean 70's then yes you probably won't be happy with the new production Ampeg cabs.

I have the Victor Wooten 4x10 from 6 years ago or so. Phenomenal cab. I let my bassist use it on smaller stages. It just sounds perfect, and has a variable horn on it. We keep that down pretty far, but it can add some nice string noise or a bit more of a cut.

Plug into to a new 4x10 and see if it works for you. Tone is subjective...

Duh
i am very famailiar with subjectivity i didnt ask you if id like it.
I will rephrase the question.
if one likes the sound of 70's 8x10 cabs
Are these newer 4x10 cabs similiar in tone or a different vibe all together.
I have used the 4x10 only with the SVT 4B reissue and didnt like it but thats because i dont really care for the head.
