I thought "yeah, it's close but any song could come this close with those chords and rhythm" but then the chorus kicked in and I thought "ah, this will be hard to explain away". The only thing in GnR defence that I can see is that it was very unlikely they ever heard the original track. Not sure that'll cut it if it ever gets to court tho.

It definitely sounds similar in parts. I don't know how much a group of drugged up drunken street kids were in tune with Australia's greatest hits...

Their fans did but I think the band themselves weren't that bothered. I guess their kids college fees must be due.

I don't know about this, I mean there are tons of songs based on the D, C, G chord structure...

Isn't there a statute of limitations on something like this?

I wasn't expecting much really, but it actually does sound very similar.. especially when the chorus comes in. Could be a coincidence, I guess.

Never heard of the band or the song. But it does have a lot of similarities.

    Hmmmmm......

I have to ask, who are they? Where would anyone have heard them? I was super into music back then, and I've never heard of them until today.

I think they were only big in Australia (where they're from).

Same chord progression, but if that's all it takes to plagiarize a song, Chuck Berry's lawyers could be super busy.
