Calling Randy @SirGilmour
email@example.com dude gets it, only calls me to confirm my order (usually the next day as I order at night) doesn't bug me (after I told him early on I'd call him) and I keep coming back. When he can't match a price he says go get it elsewhere. If he is your new guy I know from the call I got last week from another rep, he was out of town.
I find the whole idea behind these sales engineers very irritating. I really don't care who's at the other end of the line, I'm just buying stuff from you guys. Also the whole idea of getting random calls from them is illegal in Europe. Might be a cultural thing
For me it's they'll match price usually and offer 24-48 mo 0% finance... when they can't match I go elsewhere. I'm proud to say I have less than $200 on my SW card.
Our own @SirGilmour (https://www.sweetwater.com/randy_poteete) is a kick ass sales engineer, and since I communicate almost exclusively by email I can attest that this has never been a problem with our coordination. Randy is a good guy, and very helpful!
Oh, yes! The term is right up there with "sanitation engineer" for a janitor. Gee, I'll bet they don't have their state licensure... They are f'ing salesmen, NOT engineers of any stripe.
Maybe they can call them "sales Dr." Why not?
Shoot me a PM with your email. I’ll get it handled for you.
Hah, Josh was mine to! Good guy.
Alan Carter has always gone above and beyond for me!
Andy Miller has been great for me. I don't order a lot from there but he makes it very easy.
Last couple of orders I did completely by text. I texted him a link to the product and said I want to order this. Use my card on file.
He texted back "It's on it's way".
My regular guy left several months back and a new one replaced him who does an okay job. When it happened I thought I'd like to connect with a TGP brother. Unfortunately, I haven't been purchasing much. If that changes, I'll hit you up.
Jed Elliott. . ,. Funny enough, just called me today
Those that are assigned a great sales engineer get great deals and service and become very loyal customers. Luck of the draw really, didn't know SW will let you change SE's these days (I was told I was stuck with bad ones).
Never understood why SW runs their business where some customers get great service, while others (me) were forced to put up with insults & harassment and paying MAP or go elsewhere.
I'm thinking "sales professors" as well. Dennis Konicki is very responsive, not sure about the super late hours tho.
Oh yeah, next time ask your "sandwich artist" what are the characteristics that define postmodernism. Talk about a dog that won't hunt. Geez
I use Ken Nace. Always gets back to me promptly.
As a certified YouTube Influencer I am baffled by this boards refusal to refer to Sweetwater reps as Sales Engineers.
Shoot me a PM if you aren’t currently happy. I’ll handle it.
