I was surprised at how SW follows up with sales. I bought some small ticket items and got a couple calls back. I believe my rep was Aaron Tremaine? He hasn’t called in a while but I’ve moved twice since ordering.

It just sounds inconvenient to me. What if my rep is sick or on vacation and I need something and he doesn't respond? I like to receive my gear fairly quick as I'm impatient. I don't like being called with sales involved either.

I've been happy with David Hess. Knowledgeable, fair. Doesn't hassle me with phone calls at inopportune times.

I occasionally purchase from Sweetwater and every time they hound me with follow up phone calls to make sure I'm a happy customer and inquire if there's anything that I need.

    Yes... stop calling me.
Consequently I've blocked them and added them to my spam app.

wait...my phone is ringing. Maybe it's a student loan refinance engineer.

The definition of the word does not mention any sort of educational reference:

    Engineer
    noun
    1. 1.
a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works.
      synonyms: designer, planner, builder, architect, producer, fabricator, developer, creator;
      inventor, originator, deviser, contriver, mastermind
      "the structural engineer's drawings"

I maintain that the addition of the "engineer" title denotes special skills or training. A salesperson is someone who merely sells things without any special knowledge. Like the sales staff at GC.

Good thing too or I'd be referring to myself as DR.

SW has it covered, if your rep is not available, there is an assistant or alternative rep that helps you. It’s a free world, if you don’t dig SW, move on, too many others selling as well, hope you find your thing there.

Not to mention that it's simply illegal in many states.

I guess it's no worse than Subway calling their minimum wagers "Sandwich Artists". :rotflmao

I'm a big fan of Josh Hacker. Super cool cat. I've actually drove down to the store to meet him in person and buy an amp. Not a real short drive either. Quite a bit over two hours.

I picture guys sitting in cubes with headsets and taped photos of engines attached to their ears.

Sales engineers have more common sense than regular engineers.
