I'd like to see a preamp pedal that allows you to switch between four settings - 1) Echoplex EP-3 2) Boss FA-1 3) SDD-3000 4) transparent with EQ controls.

Does anyone make something like this these days?

Even something with 3 switches and 3 vol knobs would be cool (3 different preamps with vol control).

Id love to see Strymon make an EQ preamp pedal with something like 100 presets and MIDI. It would basically be the ultimate always on pedal. Run it through a MIDI switcher and give each preset its own EQ curve. You could save a preset EQ and then have different EQ batches for different venues or room sizes.

Do you prefer it to be digital?

I don't think digital vs analog matters that much when it comes to EQ. I'd be interested in other people's opinions, but with the current technology used for AD/DA conversion, I can't hear much difference in analog and digital effects in that respect. Whatever issues I have had with Strymon's effects in the past, aliasing and artifacts and the overall quality of the digital sound hasn't been one.

Not to derail this thread, but I'm curious. I've been jonesing for a Chase Secret Pre/EP Pre in general as a tone sweetener. I happened upon the Skreddy in some reading and research tonight. I know they're different pedals, but how would you compare the two? What did you like more about the DME?

That would be sweet. I think it would have to be analog since all those preamps are made from the analog mojo. I love my strymon pedals, but I think the secret in these preamps is why people pay such prices for them.

I agree. I can't see a digital preamp pedal selling very well. I want analog hitting the front of my amp.
