Hello everyone! THis is my very first thread. Wheeee.:crazyguy

So I opened my strat, unhooked TONE2 from the middle pickup position on the toggle, and soldered it to the bridge pickup position. My current config is 500k for the volume, 250k for both tonepots. (i'm using a sprague 0.047 cap. i think.)

My question is: if i change my TONE2 from 250k to 500k, will there be any noticeable difference?

    THanks for the help!

a little less curtly, it will make that pickup brighter. (search for things like "change pots" and "250k 500k pots" and you should get useful stuff here.)

but how drastic is the difference? i read somewhere that the change is more noticeable with volume pots than tone pots. Plus i DO change it to 500k, I still do plan to rolloff the highs a bit. And i'm wondering if the resulting tone is pretty much the same as if i keep a 250k on there.

    thanks for the answers. :)

It will be slightly brighter with slightly more output/gain. You'll probably like it. Especially if you play rock.

ah that's good to know, thanks.

will it have more punch though? or just more of the shrillness?
