Has anyone noticed that the T-Rex Replica and T.C. Vintage Delay pedals appear to be the exact same? The casing is the same, button and knob layout are the same, even the screw holes and MIDI location is the same.

T.C. no longer makes the VDP, but the Replica is still in production. Are they the same pedal? Same manufacturer? Same circuitry?

Just wondering what the connection is between these 2 pedals.

    Here's the T.C. delay

And here's the T-Rex Replica. They are identical.

I did a search, and found nothing discussing this. Can anyone shed some light on how the shared designs? Or perhaps post the links to these threads.

I own the VDP and it certainly is awesome.

It's a circuit that TC licensed from T-Rex, and due to the licensing it was quite expensive. I remember they stopped producing it around the time the Nova Delay came out.

Is this a common practice? I thought T.C. designed their own pedals.

Are the Replica and VDP identical, or are there some differences?

    Bump.

I have a replica and would like to know if they are the same. I'd love to get the vintage delay and put the excess funds towards an empress superdelay.

Are they the exact same? Is this a question t-rex would answer outright?

Been discussed before numerous times but still know defining answer...

I know that they have a lot of similarities including build, schematics, and manufactures.
    But,
I've played both extensively and swear they sound different.

    I prefer the T-Rex.

    YMMV
