China. Same factory, probably same tooling as the Ruby branded 6L6s.

I don't know, but I just got done sticking a new set in SFSR and they sound great. Pretty good improvement over the original worn out blackplate RCA's

    They're made by Shuguang.

Shug makes a surprising variety of tubes, many under contract -- when comparing tubes always ignore the stencil on the outside. Look at the guts. To wit:

This is the same thing as what TAD is selling here, just without the TAD labels. It came from Shuguang.

(the pix happen to have it next to an original GE because when the tube was released it was claimed to be based on a GE)

Those old small-bottle GE 6L6 were wonderful tubes!

I'd love to have a stash of 'em.

I like the Shuguang 6L6-WGC. It is close to the old GE, if not quite as sweet in the breakup and high end.

    Lord Valve at NBS Electronics:

The number is 303-778-1156; he opens at 1:30 PM Denver (Mountain) time, Monday thru Saturday, and stay open until 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM.

Last time I checked, they were $35 a pair, with $6 priority mail shipping. LV's matching is as good as it gets.

There's a number of traders in China who sell Shuguang tubes, most of them have a minimum order value around 2k USD.

Pay a 25 USD one time charge + 0.2 USD/tube and have your own logo on then.

The premium you pay on TADs is for pretty boxes, retesting and so on.

I bought a batch of ca 120 tubes in bulk over a year ago, (a group buy), various types. One rectifier tube was DOA, no failures so far.
Pretty wide spread in parameters but within bias adjustment range as i didn't buy factory matched.

Their EL84 was a nice surpise as it takes over 400V plate voltage without any problems

Is that the price for the unlabeled version? I thought I paid that for the "pretty boxed" version.

Also, his availabilty on Mondays is spotty. He's closed to walk-ins.

In afterthought: my comment on "pretty boxes" may be taken as a negative opinion which it wasn't meant to be.

Adding all costs like shipping, testing, stocking, customer service i.e. warranty etc and a reasonable mark-up and bearing in mind that TAD & others are businesses and not "for fun but not for profit" outfits one has to conclude that 35 USD for a pair of matched 6L6 is a fair price.

    "VacuumVoodoo" tubes anyone ?;)

The unlabeled tube in the photos is from Wille (aka Lord Valve)

I think it's kinda funny that the tube pictured on the TAD site has a lopsided bottle.
