As a special effect, I can see having a second neck sympathetically vibrating. But all the time it would annoy me.

Eddie Van Halen did it too, briefly, on the Diver Down Tour, until Kramer built him a doubleneck.
    DO IT!

It’s like playing a freaking door (that’s a bitch to tune).

    Too many strings.

My guitar teacher had one, often gave lessons on it with me. I picked up once, played some stuff on both necks, too unwieldy.

I had an Epiphone 12/6, no fret issues and it sounded decent.

    But...it was a boat anchor!

Is it hard to restring with those tuning heads so close in the middle? It looks like you would have to turn them by hand.

Buddy has the Epi model - it weighs a ton - and he never plays it. I agree that if you are famous and have tour support and a guitar tech - go for it. Otherwise...

Put strap pins on a coffee table to see if you can handle it.

A Danelectro is the cheap and cheerful alternative. I have a blue one just like this I picked up for about $450 a while back. A Gibson it isn’t, but it works pretty well. Sounds good, stays in tune and doesn´t weigh a ton.

    Epi's aren't that bad.
I wanted one. Spent 1/2 hour playing one.

    All I needed.
    Pass.

I lifted one of these once at a Guitar shop in Vegas.

Heaviest guitar I have ever lifted.

Beautiful to look at though. I'll bet it sounded like a million bucks. It's a Mosrite.
