1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I suppose I need to see if I can find one -- right now I play a Parker Fly Mojo and a Gretsch Vintage Select '59 Duo Jet -- I am wondering how different the neck will feel on the Armada?

To paraphrase George Carlin, why are there no blue foods? Blue on the bush, yes, but purple on the plate.

I just have a visceral reaction that blue is not natural on a thing made of wood.

I'd highly suggest that you find one in a shop or order online from someplace with a good return policy. You're definitely going to take a hard hit trying to sell it used.

But how is red? gold? sparkle? blue is found in nature just like every other color

    Ugly imo.

I'd get the St Vincent instead.

Awkward positioning of volume/tone controls. I prefer them to be more accessible, like on a typical Fender. Even a Gibson's controls are in a more natural location.

    • The "Armada" on the headstock looks like a tacky decal for a bad '80s metal band.
    • If you're buying new, they only appear to be available in blue right now (the older divided sunburst was beautiful)
    • Unless you can play it first and/or have a good return policy in play, beware! Neck/spec-wise, it's not your typical EBMM offering, and if you regret your choice in a few months, your selling/trading options will likely be limited and on the low end (they're great guitars, many buyers just don't seem all that excited by them).
That's all I got -- two aesthetic and two practical reasons to slow down.

FWIW, I own a Stingray, and it's a work of art. You will get quality. Just make sure it's a kind of quality that really makes YOU sing!

    Les Paul looks better.
Lot of nice Gibson and PRS at that price.
Gibson and PRS will have better resale value.
Two tone paint schemes are weird.
It's has three logos on the headstock, and as stated above that Armada logo looks awful.
    Polyurethane.

No strap locks. Skip it and buy a guitar that has them instead.

I only briefly played one with P90s, but i liked the fat neck. I think they are super nice. Id love to own one. Expensive, though.

Id like the solid black/black model where you cant see the flamed maple.

Seriously, if you're considering a radical shape and an EBMM, you should try this guitar, especially in the mini bucker configuration.

I really don’t get this at all. EBMMs are known for having great pickups and this one is no different.

Also - the control cavity is large enough that you could put an extra volume and tone in there with no problem.

Ive never played a single EBMM pickup that sounded anything other that dead/sterile. Much prefer their offering with dimarzios, and thats a stretch!

That guitar body reminds me of the Grover Jackson Neil Schon Guitars from the mid 80s. I like the over all look of these guitars better because of the two woods used on the top.

Both of them are so ugly IMHO. To me that's like saying, don't poke your eye out, start punching your crotch instead.
