1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

First the name is a plural noun being used to describe a singular object. How does a guitar evoke an Armada, which usually describes a large fleet of vessels? And many Armadas end in disaster e.g. The Spanish Armada or Imperial Armada at Endor. They just can't weather the storm or determined resistance. Difficult to master on a tactical level. So, just say "no" to the Armada. You'll end up on the rocks.

Second it's a visual mess: Am I a St. Vincent? A Les Paul? A strat? I would personally go the St. Vincent route.

Note: All for the purpose of talking you out of it. But do what you gotta do! :)

Color me wrong, haha, but the blue is the only one I would buy. It's like a 21st century Steve Morse.

The Armada is cool. The gold roller makes me want to puke

I have not been able to play an Armada, but look at my avatar and tell me I would not want to at least try an Armada live.

The guitar in my avatar is my signature model from the company. It is just different enough, but sounds and play familiarly. I believe the Armada would fall into a similar category.
I would have no problem playing in my group with an Armada if I liked how it played and sounded.

There are wilder, more weird looking guitars out there being played.

No way. You should definitely buy a really expensive guitar that looks like a slice of pizza on top of a Hagstrom.

If I didn't already have a great Les Paul and was looking for one, I would skip it and get the Armada.

The most important thing about any guitar (to me) is whether or not I like the way it looks. You like the look of the Armada. If it works, buy it!

Think I'd feel guilty if I did talk you out of it. And I wouldn't want to! Assuming that it plays well and sounds good, I like the looks and color-and it's not something like everyone else is playing.

Looks like a St Vincent and a Les Paul had some quality time together and this was their offspring.

It’s an ugly guitar that you will try to talk yourself into liking for 3 months and then will regret owning 3 months after that. Save yourself a lot of hassle, time and money and practice more on what you already own. When you play live 0.0 percent of the people in the room will care what your guitar looks after 5 minutes but most will appreciate a good musician for the entire show.

Don't listen to the haters. Try the guitar. I love mine. I have the quilted sunburst but I would love the blue version and and a p90 version. If you like it play it. Oh yeah and I have owned it for over a year and wouldn't think of selling it. It's that good.

    Why would I?

I think they are one of the most interesting EBMM guitars available.

I would strongly advise buying used. Someone offered me one in a trade and my eyes lit up when I saw they were listed for like $4k CAD new...then I looked at the sale history and they were going for like $1500-$1800.

Silhouettes are nice. My friend lent me his for a bit and upper fret access is amazingly comfortable on it. Piezo pickups are a nice option but the switching scheme can be limiting.
