I'm wanting to get a 2nd hand LP style guitar, preferably an older MIJ Custom in white. There's a few on Ebay that fit the bill perfectly. The best two options must have had stickers on them at some point - now removed they've left behind a shadow - the rest of the guitar has tanned up a few shades, but not where the stickers were.

Here's an example. The shadow is pretty discreet as can be seen, but it's still there, and I think having another guy's band/name etched into the guitar it would bug me if I can't fix it.

    Can this be corrected?

I highly doubt it. I would guess the stickers blocked UV light or whatever, and you can't just selectively age paint in the areas that are years behind. Probably in 10 years it will even out.

I figured as much. Was thinking I could put a reversed sticker over the top, and leave it in a sunny window for a month or two. Could work, but might also be a whole lot of effort for no reward.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought of that. Could work if you have it EXACTLY perfectly applied. I could see it backfiring and making a secondary shadow, however.

But with a cheap vinyl plotter, you could definitely make your own sticker. I have one of these, and for one-off stuff it's fantastic:https://www.craftdirect.com/portrai...Jfqn6tvMapiwaiFVhyW2y0HIMfhb-i0RtkaAjOI8P8HAQ
Maybe use one of those 40% coupons at a local hobby chain store?

    I'd leave it alone.

    It looks cool!
