Awesome guitar, or it should be when done.

The knobs in the sample color pick look like tea kettles, pretty cool.

The guitar is stunning. When can I try it?! :D

P.S. Save me some of those titanium truss rods - my back's gonna need them in a few years.

Well, if you let me have a solid 40-50 minutes with it after it arrives, then you can have a turn. Seriously, though Jon, if there is an upcoming DC/MD/VA TGP gathering, I may be able to attend (depending on place and date/time). Perhaps we could meet up there/then.

    Fret work is commencing...

Coming along very nicely Vertigho, congrats!
    Please keep us posted.

I've had a tremendous pleasure to spend some time with Serge and his wife here in NYC. He was checking out mu Kolls and Ronin while I had a really hard time letting his T Bucket out of my hands. Attention to details, fit and tone were just stunning!
Enjoy it in a good health,

    Jaya

That's going to be a stunner when it's finished; whatever colour you go for! My vote goes to the rootbeer, or another similar metallic / automotive finish. It would be a nice nod to the inspiration behind the design and would show off those curves beautifully.

Ahh, nice. I saw the photos you posted on Facebook with Serge playing your Kolls and Ronins. I didn't know that you were Jaya from TGP at the time I saw your fb photos, though. I had considered driving up to NYC to meet him during his visit, but I didn't make the trip.

Nice to hear that you had a great experience with Serge and the T-Bucket. That was a gold/sand one, correct? Do you know where that T is ending up?

And, color decision has been made. I decided on a "dark ocean" or "twilight" color for the top. Predominantly blue, but with contributions from green and gray as well. For Serge and John (car guys), this translated to a 1940's Ford color...

Yes that was me. We had awesome time, it was short but really sweet.
T is still in NYC as far as I know, unfortunately not with me. I'll PM you some details.

Once when you get Disco if you are around NYC you are more than welcome to come by, try my guitars ....

    BTW very nice color choice.

    Cheers,
    Jaya

Quick update: no new build photos, but I've heard that the Disco is nearing completion. Specifically, I heard from Serge yesterday as follows:

FYI, by "the first we did", he is referring to the orange/copper Disco Volante prototype they built in 2012-13.

They are bringing it - as well as other new Tao creations - to the Holy Grail show this weekend. So, if any of you are there, I'd certainly appreciate it if you would take/post a few photos of the blue Disco Volante at the Tao Guitars booth/table.

And, there it is! It's not the primary subject of this photo, but in the background (on the Tao table) immediately to the left of the headstock/upper neck of subject Springer. My first glimpse of the finished Disco. Yay!

    Another photo from Berlin.

In between his big brother (Tao Phaeton II) and Serge.

Serge said in a brief conversation that they are having a grat time at the show.

Love the look of your guitar. That shape really appeals to me. Very unusual and well designed.
