Agreed. I'm still interested but I'm a bit miffed that TCE started out saying "$350-$450," followed by "probably $399" and now the advertised price is $499! Not cool guys.

The good thing about TC is that even if they start with a premium price, wait a couple years and they'll get blown out for 75% off

SW states $499.99 for the Plethora.
I wish it had, among other things, at least 7-8 individual pedal effects instead of 5.

While my HX FX has 6, I would prefer a couple more or I'm not interested. Also, while I have nothing against Behringer, I was not aware that they had bought out TC Electronics.

Also, some are complaining about the pedal flow going left to right, and not like a regular pedal board.

On their FB page, TC have addressed this by saying they are considering allowing it to be reconfigured to a left to right setup.

I keep seeing this restated. I have no dog in this race & regarding the Plethora it doesn’t really matter but Behringer did not buy TC. Music Group bought TC & also owns Behringer.

I thought the HXFX could do 9 effects at once? Or are we taking switches?

It's Music Tribe and Uli Behringer runs both.

I don't have data but the majority of sentiment I've seen online is that quality hasn't improved for anyone they aquired.

It may indeed do nine effects at once, BUT!, some effects may be on and not easily turned off. By "easily" turned off, I mean by novices, like me. ;)

Thank you for the correction. I just read about the Behringer ownership a few minutes ago on this thread. ;)

This is a really cool unit. I like the look and many of the features it has. My issue with it is that there is no midi out to control the changing of my amps channels and only the single loop. I'm trying to keep my pedalboard smaller and do a bit less tap dancing. Unfortunately, this one I will have to pass on.

It looks like even TC doesn't really know what the Plethora does.

Being touted as "true stereo" and considering that some effects are normally involving a true stereo processing (Mimiq and Brainwaves), I wondered if the Plethora could process the signal in dual mono (no, summing of the inputs).

On their Instagram page, they said yes :
But on their MusicTribe forum, it's a no : https://community.musictribe.com/t5/Guitar-and-Bass/plethora-x5-questions-suggestions/td-p/293185

"Dual mono mode is not supported and there is no parallel routing at this point either." o_O

Has anyone heard anything more on the release for this? Has it been cancelled or is it delayed due to the pandemic maybe? Can’t find it in stock anywhere.

I emailed Sweetwater last week and this was the exact response for when this will be released:

"We currently expect it to begin shipping in mid-June."

This looked promising. But some aspects of implementation, like stomping 3 times for the tuner, seem to be an afterthought. Maybe they'll be fixed in firmware update 2.
