So I found this little guy at a pawn shop today for $200. the "guitar dater project" dated the guitar to 85-86 (i have no idea if that's actually correct). it's clearly old, has a top-loader bridge, 2 string-trees, and is semi-transparent blonde. it's really light and sounds snappy and twangy. it has traditional routing under the guard. truss-adjust is at the heel, and it has a black plastic boarder around the neck plate.

what do you all know about this guitar? what do you think the value is? did i get my $200 worth?

Not an expert but it looks like a good buy to me.

Congrats on a nice Tele. How does it play and sound?

still gotta get some new strings on it, but it sounds pretty cool. the bridge is bright and snappy, the middle is very chimey, and the neck is nice and jazzy without being dark. pretty good sustain for a top-loader, and a cool "boing" in the attack that thru-body teles don't have.

just need to make sure i can sell it for a small profit (at least) if i need to. money's really tight around here, so i can't spend $200 frivolously. i have 24 hours to return it so i want to gather all the info i can before the window closes. . .

Great wood, poor electronics. Mine (A024xxx) has string a thru bridge. All i had to do is swap the electronics (microphonic pickups) and create a faraday cage to make it gig worthy.
Yours looks to be in excellent condition.

I sold mine for $325. I wish I still had it.
