Tearful goodbye to my beloved Goldtop.....temporarily.

    Why? I love RS but that goldtop looks awesome.

    Well fellas....I will be completely honest with ya. I have played this guitar in every ****** rock club in the southern U.S. over the last 11 yrs, so all the wear is honest, but I artificially checked the top a couple of years back using the upside down compressed air trick, and I have hated myself for it ever since. The top is getting refinned, with a little dulling to match the actual wear on the guitar, along with a couple of other treats....a new nut and new pots.

    ouch... that sucks. Are they gonna have to take off the entire top finish, or can they just clean/buff/respray the clear?
