It sounds really good if you play guitar through a bass amp. Character at 3 o'clock, mids at 9 o'clock, lows and highs at noon, drive at perhaps 10 o'clock... The pedal doesn't sound great through a guitar amp....

    I'm curious about this too.

Has anyone tried v.2 direct or into a guitar amp?

To get an SVT tone from a guitar pedal, you're going to need an amp that has the goods. The SVT has serious attack on notes: lots of filtering, effortless power output from 6 6550s. So, plugging the VT pedal into a Twin Reverb, a Hiwatt, a 100w Marshall... you should be able to get the sound you want. Into a Deluxe or an AC30 or Marshall 18w, I don't think you'll get close. Plugging directly into a PA style speaker with the cab simulation enabled should also work great!

I tried old one (v1) direct, into clean amp and into power amp (crate power block) for portable setup. Works pretty nice, as any other sansamp character pedal.
