TOO MUCH. I prefer the other Time Machine series or even the American Vintage 52 or bound body 62 over relics. We try very hard not to put dings in our guitars, why buy predinged. I can't speak on the tele, but I can speak on the NOS 60 strat. I love it. There are a bunch of 60 3 color sunburst custom shop teles out there now. I think list is just over 3,000.00

I paid a premium for my 52 Tele relic.........But It was worth it. To give you an Idea, I haven't bought a new guitar in over 13 years. I say Buy them used and let someone else take the hit. I bought this Tele brand spanking new becuase its that good. I paid $2700 .

I agree, I almost went for that tele myself. Hands down one of the top two guitars I have ever played. The whole thing was alive and the relicing was so well done... great stuff.

In the end I went with a historic 335. I guess I went for the other guitar Keith Richards tends to play, the Chuck Berry style semi hollow Gibson. It's not a 355 with a varitone and bigsby, but it still has THAT tone.

Relic tele seem pricey, but play one... the price starts to make more sense.

I bought my Nocaster Relic about 4 years ago. Paid $1900. for it.
It is one of my favorite guitars in my collection. In spite of the
flack the Relics get from those who don't like guitars w/ nicks
in them, I prefer a guitar w/ a worn in feel, real nitro finish,
the vintage specs that I like & a look & tone that is right.

I like the Nocaster neck so much I've had Revelatorguitarworks
make me a 60s green guard Tele w/ the Nocaster carve.
(this one cost me less than the Fender & is just as good imo)

George H, what a nice Tele!
Is the pickguard original, have never seen a nocaster like that before. The relicing looks really good on that one too, not over done.

I think it's all the same if some people disagree with your choices of guitar.. We guitarists are a judging bunch, myself included. But whatever works for the player, it's right IMO!

Btw, I hate it how you have to go custom shop if you want real thin skin nitro finished Fender..

Thanks Toneranger. I personally don't care for the overdone wear
on some of the Relics either. (ie. Rubs & super Relics) All 3 of my
Fender Relics are just slightly worn w/ a good deal of checking.

The pickguards on both of those Teles are original to the guitar.

As far as the thin skin nitro finish, yeah, Custom Shop or
    small independent luthier.
