Telecaster and Stratocaster bridge pickups

So, what are the technical differences? I've owned both and, generally, from my experience Strat bridge pickups are a hit or miss, whereas the Tele bridge pickups are more consistent and favorable to my ears.

I'd love to get this combination:

Strat 1,2 and 4 position (don't care for the #3) and Tele bridge.

I really like the bridge pickup in the EJ Strat. It's the most tele-ish sound I've heard out of a Strat. Part of that is likely the blocked trem, but I think that pickup with the tone control wired to it just gets a nicer tone than the wide open typical Strat bridge.

Yes, having the tone control to work on the bridge pickup is key!
