Anopes, don't have $4500 to toss in that direction, but still it's nice to see one captured from the wild. I wonder how many of these were made.

Wikipedia says that less than 50 left the factory with the strat trems. These are super-rare for sure. I actually remember seeing one on the Bay years ago for about $1700. I thought that was way too much, although I was tempted. My Tele deluxe is my favorite guitar ever...don't think I'd ever want one with a trem now except for novelty purposes.

Some don't mind (and some may even like it), but I just can't get past the wrong body shape of the early CBS Teles.

I've often wondered about doing this as a project. I like to flirt with Rockabilly stuff and love Tele's for that but personally just don't like Bigsby type trems. I wondered if it would still sound like a Tele without the traditional base plate.

Yep, I had a chance to play a few Teles with real WR buckers, it's hoot. Would be fun to check one out with a wiggle stick!
