Telecaster Instructional DVDs

Recently got a Nash Tele and want to get more into this style (Gatton etc.) Have Ray Flacke and Johnny Hilland. One thing I've noticed with instructional DVDs is that being a great player doesn't always translate to being a great teacher. Any input appreciated.

Not specifically tele but another great player/teacher is Paul Pigat. He has DVDs on rockabilly, jazzin' up your playing, etc,.

Jim Weider has excellent rockabilly and country blues guitar tutorials available at Homespun. Just do a search for Jim Weider.

2) Watch.
3) Put Tele away and use DVD's for entertainment purposes only.

They are excellent and you will ALWAYS be up to date with anything new coming out, hats off to Doug for knowing how to keep his customers in the loop.

Exactly what I was gonna suggest. I'd also recommend How To Get That Fender Sound with Jim Weider. Not all Tele but mostly and with some excellent Tele tone and tricks on that one.

I would scratch Scotty Anderson from that list.
I rented his dvd years ago and couldt pick up a darn thing it was so fast and thumbpicky. Id steer away from the thumpickers if u dont already play with one. Its a different style and technique than standard flatpicking. But fun to watch.
