Hey All:

I found a Fisher tube powered FM receiver in the trash. It had approximately 8 Telefunken 12AT7's in it and well as a Telefunken 12AX7 and a GE 12AX7. I pulled them and some other odd ball tube #'s that are all Western European (Telefunken and Mullard) made as well.

I have no way to test them. I know Telefunken's are name a lot folks go gaga over for 12AX7's.

Are their 12AT7's held in the same regard in the tube world?

Not sure what I'm going to do with them since it seems like these 8 will be a life time supply.

Any input or thoughts appreciated.

It depends how strong they are. They are a good phase inverter tube, but the ultimate you can buy now is the 1984 era Mullard CV4024 12AT7 tube for 28.00 on ebay.

If I were you I would sell the entire Lot on ebay and cash-in. The Hi-Fi nuts will pay top dollar for them. Study some ebay auctions and search for the completed listings and see the sale prices.

Then use your money to buy the Mullard CV4024 on ebay.

Keep all the 12AX7 tubes from your pulls.

I have one of those Mullards in my Princeton Reverb. Good to hear.

Good find. I'm thankful for idiots like the person who discarded your new toy.

One man's trash...

Did you keep the Fisher?

And if so, are you thinking of selling it?

BTW: I'll trade you some decent black plate pulls of American tubes for something you have: TFunk or otherwise - let me know.
